Our Business Segments
Water Solutions
(WS)
Chemtrade’s Water Solutions segment is one of North America’s largest suppliers of inorganic coagulants for drinking water and wastewater treatment, serving a diverse customer base of municipalities and industrial operators across the continent.
The segment operates an extensive North American manufacturing network producing both industrial chemicals and customized solutions. In addition to water treatment chemicals, Water Solutions supplies poultry litter amendments. Certain drinking water treatment chemicals carry NSF/ANSI/CAN Standard 60 certification.
The acquisition of Polytec in November 2025 enhanced Chemtrade’s Water Solutions segment by adding differentiated, value-added capabilities to its water treatment portfolio. With this addition, Chemtrade now offers integrated water solutions, including specialized chemicals, equipment, and services, to better serve food processing, industrial, and municipal customers. More.
Acid & Sulphur Products (ASP)
Chemtrade’s Acid & Sulphur Products segment is among North America’s largest suppliers of industrial sulphuric acid, including Regen Acid recovered through regeneration service agreements with the petroleum industry. Chemtrade is also the leading North American producer of UltraPure Sulphuric Acid — a critical process chemical for the electronics and semiconductor manufacturing industries, sectors that continue to drive significant global capital investment.
The ASP segment operates an extensive manufacturing, regeneration, and marketing network, supplying essential sulphur-based products to a broad range of industrial customers across North America. The segment also includes Sodium Nitrite, which is used in a wide range of industrial processes and food preservation. Chemtrade is the only North American manufacturer of sodium nitrite as a primary product. More.
Electrochemicals
(EC)
The Electrochemicals business segment manufactures and markets Sodium Chlorate and Chlor-Alkali products.
EC is a leading supplier of Sodium Chlorate in Canada and Brazil, where it is used primarily in bleaching agents for the pulp and paper industry. Our Chlor-Alkali products support many processes in the steel, oil & gas, water treatment, and pulp & paper industries. More.
