Chemtrade’s Acid & Sulphur Products segment is among North America’s largest suppliers of industrial sulphuric acid, including Regen Acid recovered through regeneration service agreements with the petroleum industry. Chemtrade is also the leading North American producer of UltraPure Sulphuric Acid — a critical process chemical for the electronics and semiconductor manufacturing industries, sectors that continue to drive significant global capital investment.

The ASP segment operates an extensive manufacturing, regeneration, and marketing network, supplying essential sulphur-based products to a broad range of industrial customers across North America. The segment also includes Sodium Nitrite, which is used in a wide range of industrial processes and food preservation. Chemtrade is the only North American manufacturer of sodium nitrite as a primary product.

Sodium Hydrosulphite (SHS)

Sodium Hydrosulphite – Na2S2O4

Chemtrade is North America’s leading supplier of Sodium Hydrosulphite (SHS) products. Our SHS products are available in both liquid and powder forms, and in blended formulations specific to customer applications.

Many of our SHS products are trademarked and sold into specific industries including: V-BRITE®, VIRWITE® (paper industry), K-BRITE® (kaolin clay industry), VIRTEX® and REACTASTRIP® (textile industry).

Liquid SHS blends are shipped via truck from Chemtrade’s facility in Leeds, South Carolina.

Powder SHS products are available in 100 kg drums or 1,800 kg returnable aluminum containers, or in intermediate bulk containers (IBCs). Powder SHS products are produced and shipped from China, either directly to customers or to a network of warehouses used to store and repackage powder SHS.

As part of our service program, we offer automated dissolving systems that produce Sodium Hydrosulphite solution from our powder SHS products, which are customized to meet customer needs.
