Chlorine – Cl2
Chemtrade manufactures Chlorine at our North Vancouver, British Columbia facility through the Chlor-Alkali process. Chlorine is important to a wide range of industries and is used in the manufacture of thousands of products depended on daily.
Chemtrade is an important supplier of Chlorine throughout western North America. Predominately, we serve the water treatment industry, where Chlorine is used as a disinfectant for water supplies. Chemtrade supplies Chlorine to producers and repackagers of sodium hypochlorite (bleach), who in turn supply municipalities where the product is used to ensure both safe drinking water and clean wastewater.
Chlorine is also an important component in the production of various plastics including PVC (polyvinylchloride). PVC is widely used in applications such as home construction (plumbing & water pipes, flooring), clothing, furniture, and automobile production (dashboard panels).
