Prince George, British Columbia
Leading regional supplier of sodium chlorate, which is used by the pulp and paper industry. Established in 1965 the Prince George plant is located on a 14.2 acre industrial site and produces approximately 80,000 metric tons of sodium chlorate and 12,000 metric tons of crude tall oil annually.

Uses molten sulphur, a by-product of environmental controls in the western Canadian oil and gas industry, to produce higher value industrial chemicals including sulphuric acid, liquid sulphur dioxide and aluminum sulphate (alum).

The emission control system utilizes a waste ammonia stream and Chemtrade technology to scrub emissions, and the Chemtrade facility creates granular ammonium sulphate fertilizer as a value added by-product.

Sodium hydrosulphite/zinc oxide production plant. Established in 1969, the Kalama plant is located on 7 acres in the Port of Kalama area and has the capacity to produce approximately 12 million dry pounds equivalent of sodium hydrosulphite and approximately 7 million pounds of zinc oxide power annually.

Sodium hydrosulphite/zinc oxide production plant; sulphur dioxide transfer facility. Established in 1973, the Leeds plant is located on a 425 acre site and produces approximately 33 million pounds of SHS and approximately 18 million pounds of zinc oxide powder annually.

Riverton, Wyoming
Spent sulphuric acid regeneration plant, sulphuric acid production plant, ultra pure sulphuric acid production plant. Established in 1958, the Riverton plant is located on a 38 acre industrial site and produces approximately 56,000 tons of sulphuric acid approximately 9,000 tons of ultra pure annually.

Shreveport, Louisiana
Spent sulphuric acid regeneration plant, sulphuric acid production plant. Established in 1920, the Shreveport plant is located on a 120 acre industrial site and produces approximately 175,000 tons of sulphuric acid and approximately 9,000 tons of sodium bisulphite annually.

Established in 1925, the Tulsa plant is located on a 5 acre site adjacent to the Arkansas River and produces approximately 70,000 tons of sulphuric acid, approximately 7,500 tons of ultra pure sulphuric acid and approximately 3,000 tons of sodium bisulphite annually.

Whiting, Indiana
Provides alkylation spent acid removal and regeneration services. Spent acid is sent by rail to the regeneration facility in Toledo, Ohio.

Toledo, Ohio
Located immediately adjacent to BP’s Toledo refinery, spent acid is delivered by pipeline, railcar and truck to the facility regenerated into “fresh” acid and returned to the manufacturing process. The Toledo facility also regenerates spent acid from the BP refinery in Whiting, Indiana. Plant capacity was expanded by 60% in 1998 and today can process in excess of 300,000 tons per year. Chemtrade also provides hydrogen sulphide gas processing for the BP Toledo refinery.

Mount Vernon, Washington
Converts molten sulphur into granules. This facility services local west coast oil refineries including BP, ConocoPhillips, Shell, Tesoro, and ChevronTexaco, which produce sulphur as a by-product of the refining process. Because the local market cannot absorb all the sulphur produced by the refineries, the sulphur is converted into a form that can be shipped to overseas markets.
