REPAIRS UNDERWAY AT CHEMTRADE’S BEAUMONT, TEXAS PLANT

TORONTO, October 5, 2005 - Chemtrade Logistics Income Fund (TSX: CHE.UN) announced today that it had commenced repairs to the ancillary damage caused by Hurricane Rita at its chemical plant in Beaumont, Texas. Based on current information, Chemtrade expects the repairs to be completed in about 7 to 10 days.

Mark Davis, Chemtrade President and Chief Executive Officer, said, “We were fortunate that the plant sustained only minimal physical damage and that contractors have been able to move ahead with the necessary repairs.  The eventual start-up of the plant will depend on full restoration of power to the area, and on the ability of suppliers to deliver raw materials needed for the reliable, continuous operation of the facility.  The latest report we have on the power situation indicates that service should be restored in a few days, although it may be longer before full service is available.  Once we have reliable supplies of power and raw materials we will be in a position to resume operations and service our customers as they recommence operations.”  Mr. Davis said Chemtrade is making arrangements to supply those customers who are operating and require product.

The Beaumont plant, which processes spent acid for oil refineries and chemical operations in the area, was shut down on September 22 as Hurricane Rita approached.

Operational updates on the post-hurricane repairs and restart of operations at Beaumont are being posted to the Chemtrade website http://www.chemtradelogistics.com/.
