Chemtrade manufactures zinc oxide at three North American locations – Leeds, SC; Kalama, WA; and Trois Rivieres, QC – and markets the product under the trade name CPROX and as Zinc Oxide.
Chemtrade’s zinc oxide is formed as a precipitate in a water solution which produces a very porous particle that is highly specialized to specific applications. This differs from the standard zinc oxides available today, which are produced in a hydrometallurgical process commonly called the “Wet Chemistry” method.
Chemtrade zinc oxide is very free-flowing, has a high surface area (20-30m2/g), low bulk density. The product is shipped in bulk pneumatic railcars, or supersacks.
For many applications, our zinc oxide products provide a highly reactive, superior handling alternative to both French and American Process zinc oxide, and is a cost effective alternative to French Process zinc oxide.
